CCD Classes

CCD Classes are offered each year at Holy Name of Jesus during the calendar school year. These classes are open to all Kindergarten through 5th Grade youth at our parish. Our classes are specially designed to help children learn more about their Catholic faith. Through prayer, crafts, and activities, our younger classes spend the year walking through the Bible as the Story of Salvation, while our older classes develop an understanding of the Nicene Creed which we recite each Sunday at Mass.

Registration for each year is open in August. Please contact the office for mid-year registration options

HNJ CCD from HOME!

Hybrid Parent/Student Classes

In order to keep our parents as the primary educators of the faith in each household, our CCD program meets with both the parents and the children each week:

Each Sunday, at least one parent is asked to attend a 30min lesson preparation session in the Family Life Center. These will be offered after the 10AM Mass. Fr. Pat and MC will hand out folders for each family, give a brief overview of the lesson plan for that week, and distribute the week's craft/activity supplies for each child - and will be available to answer all questions about the week's lesson.

While parents are going over the lesson plan, students will meet in classrooms with their CCD teachers for a worksheet check-in and review of the previous week's lesson.

Please see Lesson 1 from our 2020-2021 Program below as a sample of how each week's lesson looks
